U.S. Veteran Roby Phillips, age 81, of Newport, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center. He is survived by his son, Roby Bill Phillips of Newport; daughters, Vanessa Dunkhase and her husband Jeff of Dandridge, Carol Ann Faircloth of Sevierville; his very special friend, Betsy Belcher and her children, Wayne Belcher, Dean Belcher, Debbie Belcher, Maury Belcher and Paul Belcher; brother, Eulas Phillips; sister, Thelma Parton both of Johnson City; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ruble Campbell officiating, with burial in Phillips-Hembree Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday at Manes Funeral Home.
