Fred Douglas Pierce- age 95 of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday evening, February 20, 2010. Fred was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army, Sixth Armored Division earning 3 Bronze Battle Stars for campaigns in Normandy, France and Germany. He was retired from Iron Workers Union Local # 384 working with Rust Engineering. Fred was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Preceded in death by his parents, Pink and Nora Reagan Pierce; brothers and sisters: Ernest Pierce, Swann Pierce, Claude Pierce, Ray Pierce, Odie Green, Lillie Freels, Dorothy McGoldnick, and Ruth Foster. He is survived by his wife, Kate Pierce; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Benny Allison, Doris and Jim Weaver all of Lenoir City; grandson, Jared Weaver and wife, Laura and their son, Maddox; sister, Stella Bishop of South Carolina along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Family and friends will gather by 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home and proceed to the Loudon County Memorial Gardens for 2 p.m. graveside services with Dr. Ronny Jones officiating. Full military honors will be conferred by the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard.
