Roberts, age76 of Chatsworth, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in Chattanooga, TN. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Howard Roberts and Gerite Lynn Roberts; sisters, Mary Evelyn Roberts, Betty Ruth Roberts, and Evelyn Louise Roberts; a step-son, Rodney Ray Land. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Roberts of Chatsworth; sons, Ricky Allen Roberts of Dalton and Joey Dale Roberts of Chatsworth; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Missy Land of Chatsworth; daughters, Betty Anita Morrow of Chatsworth and Tina Denise Hall of Dalton; grandchildren, Jared, Eric, Shyla, Tyson, Beth, April, Allen, Hanna, Jeff, Taylor and Shania; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Ray and Bobbie Roberts of Tellico Plains, TN, Richard and Wanda Roberts of Madisonville, TN, J.C. and Wilma Roberts of Tellico Plains, TN, Arthur and Dovie Roberts of Chatsworth; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna Jones and Lloyd of Chatsworth, Louise and Earl Crowder of Tellico Plains, TN, Elizabeth Trammell of Chatsworth, and Betty Jenkins of Madisonville, TN; nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Walter J.D. Roberts will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 12, 2011 in the Chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Maney and the Rev. J.C. Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Holly Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 11, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M.
