Anna (Ann) Mae Owens Cox, age 92 of Sevierville, left to be with her Lord and His angelic hosts on Friday, August 10, 2012, surrounded by her adoring family and friends. Ann was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and never ceased to both serve and worship the Lord. Sounds of laughter and happiness can be heard from Heaven as the Lord’s servant is finally welcomed home in peace.
Ann was a devoted Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Sevierville for 30 years and was a constant inspiration to everyone who had the honor to know her as she never stopped providing an example of what true discipleship was.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Ruth Underwood Owens, , her beloved husband; R. F. “Poppy” Cox, her loving son-in-law; R. L. “Bud” Maples, and several siblings.
Ann is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Norma Maples, Brenda and Donald Bohanan, Janice and Josef Zverina; grandchildren and their spouses, Jeffrey and Joy Wadley, Alisa Johnson, Stephen S. Bohanan, Eric and Nancy Bohanan, Stephanie Moore, Mitchell Thompson; great-grandchildren, Dexter, Jamison, and Jenissa Johnson, Brandon, Phillip, and Erin Wadley, Dalton, Avery, and Eli Bohanan, Stetson and Braxton Moore; sisters and their spouses, Joyce and Kenneth Roach and Joan Payne; special friends of Ann are Reba Valentine and Louise Parrott and her hospice caregivers Julie Crum and Rita Swatslar.
Ann will always be remembered by her family and friends as their beloved “Muz” and will be remembered for the sweet smiles that always lit up her lovely face.

Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Monday at Middle Creek Cemetery for graveside service and interment with Dr. David Ayers and Rev. Jeffrey Wadley officiating.
