REAGAN, FRANCES REBECCA -- Age 92, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Blount Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack the day before. She was the widow of John W. Reagan and the mother of Lois Reagan Thomas. Known affectionately as "Miz Frances," she shepherded generations of young children as a Beginners' Class Sunday School teacher at Valley Grove Baptist Church for 50 years. She was an avid quilter, a member of the Sevier County Piecemakers Guild and took great pride in her hand-stitched quilts, with which she gifted family and friends and loved to show and discuss. She was the life of any party and all family gatherings and never knew a stranger. She always had time for children and loved to welcome them to her home. She also leaves a brother, Jim N. Mikles; sisters-in-laws Beatrice Abbott, Rachel Ogle, Dorothy Reagan and Sarah Mikles, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, brothers Martin and Jack Mikles, sister Lora Hensley and son-in-law Glenn Thomas. Her parents were the late Luther and Fannie Mikles. The family wishes to thank for its kind care the staff at Williamsburg Villas, where Mrs. Reagan had resided for nearly two years. Friends will be received at 10 a.m. Friday, June 18 at Highland South Mortuary preceding a service at 11 a.m. Bill Greer of Chattanooga and. Joe Lewis of Seymour will officiate. A private burial will follow. Those who wish to offer tangible memorials are urged to follow their hearts. A suggestion is memorial donations to supplement extension or children's work at Valley Grove Baptist Church, 9000 Sevierville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920. Guestbook may be signed at www.highlandmemorialparks.com. Highland South Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations (865-573-7300) is providing arrangements.
