Margaret Lutisha Gibson Galyon, 1910 – 2007, went to her eternal rest on Thursday evening, September 27, 2007. She professed faith in the Lord at an early age and joined Dupont Baptist, where she remained a faithful member throughout her life. Margaret was the oldest living member of the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Blaine (A.B.) Galyon; her parents, Steven and Rachel Hale Gibson, who were charter members of Dupont Church; brothers, Edgar, Charlie, Pink Harve, and Mayford Gibson; and sisters Josie, Jennie, Lucy, and Edna.
She leaves behind:
Daughters: Evelyn L. Henry and Wilma J. Galyon, both of which lovingly cared for her in her home for the last several years of her life
Son-in-law: Bill Henry
Grandchildren: Susan H. Tinsley of Seymour, Tim and Robin Henry of Johnson City, Phil and Lis Henry of Seymour, and Bridget and Chris Daniels of Seymour
Nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Galyon’s name may be made to the Sevier County Humane Society Animal Shelter at 959 Gnatty Branch Road, Sevierville, TN 37876.
Funeral Service 2 PM Sunday at Dupont Baptist Church with Rev. Troy Cody and Rev. W.A. Galyon officiating. Interment will follow in Dupont Cemetery.
