Amos B. Bull Jr. (Bo), died Friday, March 10, after a long illness.
Survivors include his wife, Sara; son and daughter-in-law, John and Crystal; daughter, Melissa; mother, Trula W. Bull, Knoxville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Elden Elmer, Knoxville, Carol and Keith Walden, Vancouver, Wash., Letha and Tom Hopwood, Birmingham, Ala., and Inger and Fred Ponton, Knoxville; three grandchildren; several aunts; one uncle; a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Amos B. Bull Sr.; son, Michael Bull; granddaughter, Alex Adora Bull. He was the grandson of the late Harve and Letha Ogle Whaley.
Amos was mountain man, born in Gatlinburg. He moved to the Albany area after serving nine years in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He began working with Penn Central (Contail/CSX) in 1969. He was a carman and was widely regarded as one of the best Wreckmasters in the company. He remained there until his retirement in 2002. He was also a Past Master of Arc Lodge No. 48 Free & Accepted Masons and Past Commander of the American Legion Post 166.
Services will take place Wednesday, March 15 at 1 p.m. at Brady & Sons Funeral Home in Coxsackie, N.Y. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to: Neurosciences Research Center at Albany Medical Center, 43 Scotland Ave., Building S, Albany, NY 12208 c/o Dr. E. Zimmerman.
