DISNEY, FRED K. - age 89 passed away on Saturday Morning August 28, 2004 at the Ridgeview Terrace Nursing Home in Rutledge, Tn. He was a member and Deacon of the Rutledge First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Sims Disney and parents, John Franklin and Mary Merriman Disney. He was a member of the Rising Star Lodge #44 and the American Legion #119, both in Rutledge. Mr. Disney was a graduate of the Gupton-Jones College of Embalming, class of 1935 and was a licensed funeral director and embalmer at Smith Funeral Home, having served since 1952. Also he was a long term member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association. Survivors is his daughter and son-in law Mary and Sam Thomas of McDonald, Tn. step-daughter, whom he loved and raised as his own, Louise Sims Kirby of Kodak Tn. grandsons, Patrick Thomas, Michael Thomas and John Thomas all of McDonald Tn. step-grandsons, Chris Kirby of Kodak, Tn.: step-granddaughter, Vickie Lynn Harrell of Kodak, Tn. and step-great granddaughter, Christy Parton, and Kallie, Cortney of Kodak Tn. 3 great-grandchildren Cherie Thomas McDonald, Sarah Thomas McDonald, Josuha Thomas McDonald. And a very special friend, Wayne Dalton and many other special friends and family. Funeral services will be on Monday night August 30, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kerry Bond officiating. Burial will follow on Tuesday morning August 31, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Beech Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Family will receive friends on Monday night at the Smith Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
