Alice Joyce Whaley Schlosshan, age 70 of Alcoa, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born January 26, 1934 in Tarklin Valley in Knox County. Preceded in death by parents, Julius H. and Geneva Schuler Whaley; brother Junior Whaley; sisters, Arminda Williams and Margaret Mize; daughter, Barbara Sherwood; son, Dennis Schlosshan and grandson, Travis Schlosshan. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, William ''Bill'' Schlosshan Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, William ''Dicky'' and Sharon Schlosshan; grandchildren, Rebecca, Matt, Dan and Nick Schlosshan and Michael Sherwood; great-grandchildren, Haley Teffeteller and Kayla Farmer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hayes and Vera Whaley and Willard and Dorthy Whaley; sister-in-law, Ruth Whaley; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2004 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Ann Robins officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Tarklin Valley Cemetery for the graveside service and interment. Family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
