PRICE, ROE H. - of Flowing Water Farm, Philadelphia, TN died peacefully at his home on Wednesday December 5, 2007 following a brave battle against cancer. A graduate of Sevier Co. High School Class of 1945, honorable discharged from the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1946 where he served with the 91st RCN Sq., mapping for the first time the Amazon River in Brazil, retired U.S. Postmaster, member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, but his true passion was farming the land. Mr. Price was born in Sevier Co., TN January 4, 1927 to the late Isaac Newton Price and Bessie Ann Shults Price. Preceded in death by his brothers, John Dot, James Burl, and Brinkley Arno Price; sister, Ersabelle Price Messamore. He is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Lowe Price; daughters, Patricia Scandlyn and husband Benny, Betty Price and husband Jack Birdwell; son, Joe N. Price and wife Joann; granddaughters, Sarah Ames, JoEllen Krupp, and Rebecca Scandlyn; great-grandchildren, Kiersten and Keegan Krupp and Cannon Ames. He will be missed by his special nieces and nephews and his caring neighbors of the Blue Springs Community. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 8, from 4-6 pm at Kykers of Sweetwater North Chapel with services to follow officiated by Rev. Scott Wilkes. Interment service will be Sunday, December 9 at 2:00 pm at the Sweetwater Memorial Garden State, Hwy 11 North Sweetwater. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church or their home church.
