Ruby L. Ogle, 80, of Sevierville, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at the Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee in Knoxville.
Mrs. Ogle was a member of the Middle Creek Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She had retired from the Sevier County school system after 37 years as a schoolteacher and librarian. Ruby received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee. After the death of her husband, Dana D. Ogle, she served 3 years as a Sevier County Commissioner completing the term her husband held before his death. She also was a member of the American Business Women’s Association and served as a volunteer at Ft. Sanders Sevier Medical Center.
Besides her husband, Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Rebecca Jane Ward Lowe; brothers, Kenneth, Carl, and Fred Lowe.
Ruby is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David H. Ogle and wife Glenda, Donald R. Ogle and wife Louise, Freddie Ogle and wife Gretta; daughter, Debra Ogle; sisters, Dorothy Price, Molly Proffitt; 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter; 11 great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.
Service will be 9:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12 at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ted Ogle and Rev. Jerry Page officiating. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 13 at Middle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
