Clara Mae Breeden Adams, age 74 of Sevier County, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, August 18, 2013. She was born and raised in the hills and hollers of the Jones Cove Community, attended school at Crockettsville and graduated from Sevier County High School.
She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Clara loved to quilt, sew, cook and garden. She could grow any flower, in any season, anywhere.
Clara was married to the late Cotton Adams for over 25 years. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Melanie Kay Adams, brothers Ralph Breeden and Guy Breeden and her parents Asbury and Esta Breeden.
Survivors include:
Children: Mike Adams, Kathy Adams, Ricky Adams and wife Debra, Karen Adams, Gina Adams King;
Grandchildren: Jeremiah Brown, Cammy Cottongim and husband Cory, Meagan Blalock, Cory Blalock and wife Chesney, Luke Stone, Amber Adams, Alexis Adams, Tucker Adams, Taylor King, Jaclyn King, Preston King, Phoebe King, Ellie Daily, Andy Daily
Great-grandchildren: Colt, Jack, Camden and Phoenix
Sister: Wilma June Breeden
Sisters-in-law: Ina Breeden, Stella Vance, Mary Adams
The family will receive friends 5:30-7 PM Wednesday, August 21st with funeral service to follow at 7 PM at Bethany Baptist Church. Rev. Ben Whitted and Rev. Lowell Wilson will officiate. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
