Felix Gilbert “Gib” Lewis, age 82, of Gatlinburg, died Sunday, January 18, 2004.
Gib, as he was known to his family and friends, owned and operated Lewis Electric Co. for many years in Gatlinburg. He was of the Baptist faith.
A veteran of WWII, he was a member of Co. M393 Infantry where he was a mortar gunner, seeing action in France, Normandy, Rhineland, Europe, and Andennes. He received the Purple Heart with one oak leaf cluster for being wounded in France and Germany; the EAME Theater Ribbon with five bronze stars, the Bronze Star, and the Good Conduct medals for his service.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Jona Lewis, a son Murphy Dale Lewis and sisters Alta Cornett, Clara Fee and Rhoda Huskey.

Sons and daughters-in-law: Clell G. and Mary (Compton) Lewis, Dean and Linda (McMahan) Lewis, all of Sevierville, and Van and Eileen (Murphy) Lewis of Gatlinburg

Interment 1 PM Wednesday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday at Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel, 220 Emert Street, Pigeon Forge.
