Dicie Dellinger Helton, age 90, of Sevierville went home to be with the Lord May 4, 2008. She was a charter member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She was the last surviving child of 13 children born to Mitch and May (Ward) Dellinger. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Jesse E. Helton Sr., daughter: Wilma Cates; daughter in law: Wilma Helton; son in laws: Riley King and Reaford McCarter; father and mother: Mitch and May (Ward) Dellinger; sisters: Lizzie Clabo, Kate Mathis, Fannie Melvin, Annie McMahan, Mollie Watson, Addie Dellinger, and Reba Dellinger; brothers: Joe, Ben, Jim, Bill, and Timothy Dellinger. Survivors include her daughters and son in law: Julia McCarter, Naomi King, and Adis Huskey and husband Jerry; sons and daughters in law: Oliver and Joyce Helton, Jesse Jr. and Kathleen Helton; grandchildren: Gale Parton, Tony and Randy Cates, Dawn Hampton, Dan and Phillip King, Robbie Beckner, Mike McCarter, Lisa Wear, Scott Huskey, Tim Helton, and Carl Helton; 20 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in law: Verna and Bessie Helton, Johnny and Billie Helton, Glen Helton, Dee Helton, and Josie Helton.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening May 6, 2008 in the chapel of Rawlings Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 PM with funeral services following in the chapel at 7:00 PM with the Reverends Jack Hitch, Danny King officiating. Family and friends will meet in the Mountain View Church cemetery Wednesday morning May 7, 2008 at 9:45 AM for the interment service beginning at 10:00 AM with the Reverend Will Beckner officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Cates, Mike McCarter, Philip King, Tim Helton, Carl Helton, and Scott Huskey. Great grandsons will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
