Joe attended St. Catherine High School in Racine, Wisconsin, Lake Forrest College in Lake Forrest, Illinois and University of Illinois Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Gulyash served in the United States Air Force as Colonel and had a distinguished career as an ophthalmologist while serving and in private practice. He was a founding member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a former commander of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Gulyash was on the Board of Directors of Walter State Community College and loved sports and travel. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Julia Gulyas, son Joseph Gulyash and brother Steve Gulyas. Funeral mass 11 AM Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Jay Flaherty officiating. Entombment will follow in the Holy Cross Mausoleum in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens.
