Alma Curtis, age 79 of Sevierville, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012.
Alma was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Sevierville. She was also a volunteer at LeConte Medical Center and an avid supporter for Alzheimer’s research. She served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Sevier County Electric System and had been in banking, real estate and insurance in the past. Alma was a servant to many and most recently found her joy through being with family, especially her great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jean Trotter and Alex Curtis; parents Mack and Kate Smith McCroskey; sisters, Lucille, Gertrude, Nelle, Blanche and Dora; brothers, Bill, Wayne , Earnest and Baby Trotter.
She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Lane; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Susie Trotter, Dale and Robin Trotter; step-sons, Steve and Chris Curtis; grandchildren, Andy Trotter, Jon Trotter, Sierra Trotter, Adam Lane, Tyler Trotter, Jessica, Kevin and Ryan Curtis; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Logan and Alex Trotter, Anastasia Melendez, Carson, Bailey and Mason Lane, Brylon and Jada Trotter, Joshua , Kyle, Eli and Carson Curtis; step-grandchildren, Megan Johnson and Brad Cuthbertson; sisters-in-law, Marie McCroskey, Blanche McCroskey and Lillian Marshall; special friends, Elsie Tarwater, Alma’s church family, Jean and Dallas McCroskey, Johnny and Sue Hardin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s Tennessee, 2270 Sutherland Avenue, Suite 202, Knoxville, TN, 37919 or First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 214 Cedar Street, Sevierville, TN 37862.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 3 PM Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Street, Sevierville with Rev. Bruce Adams and Rev. Drew Henry officiating.
