Blalock, age 76 of Seymour passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at 4:15 PM with his family gathered by his side. Jack grew up and raised his family in the Sugarloaf community of Sevier County. Jack was a faithful member and trustee at Sugarloaf Baptist Church. Jack's compassion for people showed through his example of a true christian and following God's Word. Jack was the owner and operator of Varsity Barber Shop in Knoxville. He was a barber for over 50 years. Jack loved bluegrass and bluegrass gospel music. He also was a fan of Nascar and loved watching the races. Jack's passion was his grandsons Aaron and Adam Blalock who called him "Paw" as well as Caleb who he thought of as a grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Audley and Volia Blalock; and his sister, Ruby Nell Thomas. Jack is survived by: His loving wife for nearly 50 years, Kathrine Blalock; son, David Blalock, son and daughter-in-law Kenny and Trish Blalock; Grandsons, Aaron and Adam Blalock; several sisters and brother-in-law's; several nieces and nephews; and his Church family and special friends. The family will receive friends 5PM-7PM Monday, July 10, 2017 at Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour, TN with service to follow at 7PM with Pastor David Newman, Rev. Daniel Sizemore, and Rev. Benny Flynn officiating. Pallbearers include: Dale Gibson, Winford Gibson, Aaron and Adam Blalock, Dennis and Dewayne Martin.
