Millie Ann Suttles Barnes, age 90, of Sevierville, left the earth to enter into her eternal home in Heaven on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Throughout her 90 years of living and walking among us, Millie served as a beloved member of Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church, a loving wife to her husband, a wonderful mother to nine children, and grandmother to 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Millie had a great love for her family and friends and, though gone, her life and memory will be preserved and carried on by all who knew her. Though she will be missed, her children and friends can rest easy as Millie celebrates a heavenly reunion with God, Christ, and the family that has passed before her.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Garland Barnes; sons, Clifford Barnes and Freddie Barnes; daughters, Ruby Lindsey and Janice Barnes; grandchildren, Kathy Williams and Dennis Rolen.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Diane Barnes; daughters, Charlotte Ledbetter and Patricia Smith; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Alvin Lethco, Faye and Mike Rolen; daughter-in-law, Dora Barnes; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Mae Suttles Moore, and very special family friend, Adis Huskey.
The family of Millie Barnes would especially like to thank the nurses from Covenant Home Health and Hospice for their time and the gentle care they provided. Also, the family expresses great thanks for the love shown by Pastor Jack Hitch and her church home, Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 2 PM Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Hitch officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Lethco, Ben Lethco, Scott Lethco, Brandon Barnes, Kevin Hurst, and Daniel Hurst. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
