Connie Wilson O’Neil, age 91, of Morristown, formerly of Newport, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital.
She was saved at Gregg’s Chapel Church at the age of 13 and was baptized in the French Broad River.
She attended Inskip Baptist Church in Knoxville and retired from Y-12 in Oak Ridge, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph O’Neil; parents, Thomas and Louella Wilson; sisters, Martha Clubb, Stella Wilson, Addie Teague; brothers, Bill Wilson, Charles Wilson; also nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her nieces, Betty Harrison and Jean Neas, both of Newport; Marjorie Leonard, of Morristown; Beatrice Brooks and Lou Maloy, both White Pine; nephews, J.T. Clubb and Haskell Teague, both of Kingsport; great niece and her husband, Kathryn and John Walker, of Morristown; great nephew, Tommy Clubb, of Oklahoma; godson, Johnny Walker, of Morristown; also five generations of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2002 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ross Woody and Rev. Robert Walker officiating, with burial 11:00 a.m. Friday in Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the service.
