Samalena (Sam) Ball Kidd, age 69, of Monroe, North Carolina, formally of Sevierville, went to live with Jesus on Monday, March 20, 2006. Samalena spent her early years in Tennessee, and her family moved to VA where she later also raised her family and worked as a nurse for the State of VA Dept. of Corrections until her retirement. She is returning to her roots.
She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Geneva Ball, her son Anthony, one brother and two sisters.
She is survived by:
Children: Yvonne Cavazos and her friend Bob Josefowicz of Apache Junction, Arizona, Michael Harris and his wife Lisa of Monroe, North Carolina, Diana White of Richmond, Virginia, Theresa Seay and her husband Warren of Louisa, Virginia, Sheila Shanklin and her husband Scott of Clarkesville, Virginia

The family would like to recognize Wanda McGill as a special family friend. A special thanks to the staff at Charlotte Square, (Alzheimer’s Unit at Suzanne’s Cottage), and Hospice of Charlotte, NC.
All who knew her or the Ball and/or Allen family are invited to join the family for a celebration of her life which will be 11 AM Saturday, March 25, 2006, in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
