March 30, 1934 - October 22, 2017 John Charles (J.C.) Valentine, born on March 30, 1934, age 83, of Seymour, Tennessee went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 22, 2017. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Faye Baker Valentine; infant son, Charles Clifford Valentine; parents, Charles and Pearl Valentine; sister, Virginia Valentine; and son-in-law, Robert Oury. Survivors include his children, Marilyn Oury, Patricia and Richard Glaspie, Jack and Toni Valentine, Donna and Kent Atkins, Barbara and John Wojtowicz, James and Cheryl Valentine, Bill and Marie Valentine, and Carolyn and Danny Schofield; grandchildren, Tara Jenkins, Samantha Glaspie, Leah Oury, Lori Valentine, Danielle Fay, Suzanne Jackson, Logan Noland, Jeremiah Wojtowicz, Lacy Wojtowicz, Madison Valentine, and Mason Valentine; brother, Jim (Sandy) Valentine; sisters, Billie (Joe) Ott, and Geraldine (Albert) Gibson; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank UT Hospital and UT Hospice for their care and assistance during Daddy’s transition. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 PM Friday, October 27th with the funeral service to follow at 7:30 PM in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel. Rev. Claude Ramsey will be officiating. Family and friends will leave at 9:45 AM Saturday from Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour in procession to Boyd’s Creek Cemetery for the graveside service and interment. Military honors to be provided by American Legion Post #104. Pallbearers will be John Wojtowicz, Jeremiah Wojtowicz, Danny Schofield, Frosty Smith, Randy Etter, and David Jenkins. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Valentine, Albert Gibson, Logan Noland, Lacy Wojtowicz, Tara Jenkins, Lori Valentine, Madison Valentine, Mason Valentine, and Austin Garner.
