Harold W. McCroskey, age 93 of Sevierville, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013. He served as treasurer and was an active member of Luretta United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita McCroskey
Mr. McCroskey was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, member of the Masonic Lodge, and served as Justice of the Peace. He was a founding member of the Sevier County Volunteer Rescue Squad and served as 2nd Captain. He also served on the Board of Directors to plan and build the Sevier County Hospital.
Survivors include-
Son: Hollis W. McCroskey
Daughters and Sons-in-law: Harolene and Edward Davis, Shirley and Herbert Helton, Linda and Coyle Fox, Jr.
Grandchildren: Jill Flynn, Mitzi Holland, Trina Wenke, Rodney Helton, Valerie Fox, and Stacey Fox
Great Grandchildren: Michelle, Elissa, and Trevor Wenke, Paige Sims, Will Watts, and Adelynn and Cale Helton
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Luretta Methodist Church, c/o Marie Belt, 1011 Valley View Circle, Sevierville, Tennessee 37876.
The family will receive friends 12 noon – 1 PM Thursday with funeral service to follow at 1 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Rev. Fred Heard and Rev. John Clark will officiate. Interment will follow in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
