LYON, LELAND L. - age 70 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Johnson City, TN, passed away Monday, June 20, 2005. Born in Johnson City to parents Oscar Lee and Bertha White Lyon, he was a graduate of East Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee. Mr. Lyon also served his country with the U. S. Air Force in Korea. Most of his professional career was spent in education, having taught in both the Sevier County and Knox County school systems, as well as serving as an elementary and high school principal. Mr. Lyon was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Catherine Atchley Lyon daughters, Lisa Lyon and Constance Alexander brothers and sisters-in-law, Gayle and Ruth Lyon, Dana and Georgia Lyon, Ken and Donna Lyon, Steve and Jane Lyon, Bobby and Patricia Lyon several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, June 24, 2005, 7:00 p.m., at Sevier Heights Baptist Church, 3232 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leland's memory to the Remote Area Medical Foundation, 1834 Beech Street, Knoxville, TN 37920. Arrangements by Cremation Options, Inc.
