She worked for Wishing Well in Gatlinburg for many years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred L. "Wimp" Thomas; mother and father, Jennie and Bryan Atchley; sons, Dennis and William H. "Bill" Thomas; grandson, Steven Thomas; brother, Clyde Atchley; sister, Betty Atchley; and many in-laws. She is survived by her sons, Jack and Connie Thomas, Jerry and Kay Thomas, Bob Thomas, and Mike and Mary Thomas; sister, Carolyn Atchley; grandchildren, Amy Thomas, Jason Thomas, Melissa Thomas and Dean Wright, Tim and Joni Thomas, Brian and Shannon Thomas, Jeremy and Leah Thomas, Sharon and David Reed, Jimmy Thomas, and Trisha Thomas; great-grandchildren, Hailey Thomas, Brian Thomas, Devan Thomas, Noah Thomas, Jonah Thomas, Wesley and Nicki Reed, Oriah Thomas, West Thomas, Eloise Thomas, Lindsey Thomas, AnnaLee Thomas, and Jessica Greer; great-great-grandson, Brantley Frank Gibson; sister, Carolyn Atchley; a host of loving family members and friends.
