William David Howard, 81, of Seymour passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 10, 2017. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Woodcarver for over 60 years. William was a member of Howard's View Church and his favorite past time was fishing. William was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Rebecca Howard; brother, Reid Howard; nephew, Danny Howard; sisters, Hazel Huff, and Kathleen Valentine and her husband, Aaron; father-in-law, Ermal Rogers; and many friends and cousins.
William is survived by his loving wife, Gladys Howard; sons, David Howard and his girlfriend, Trinka Castle, Greg Plemons and wife, Charlesetta; mother-in-law, Celia "Tootsie" Rogers; sisters, Connie Howard, Bonnie Marshall and husband, Harley; special niece, Gale Rhea; several nieces and nephews; special friends in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Arts Community; and his good friend and neighbor, Ida Gibson.
The family wishes to extend their sincerest appreciation to Vicky Kay and Janice Schwartz with the V.A. for taking such good care of William while he was sick, as well as, Avalon Hospice and their employees that cared so compassionately for William: Pam Humbarg, Rhonda Bishop, Robin Johnson, Mary Roberts, Sabrina Guerraro, Chaplain Mark Kitts, and Nurse Rick Smith. All your assistance and kindness will be remembered and cherished.
