Husband of Shirley Harper Allen, he was born in Sevierville, Tenn., a son of the late Shelby and Selma Hodges Allen. Mr. Allen was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from the Savannah River Plant and was a member of Abundant Life Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Debra Allen Lambert of North Augusta and Betsy Allen Daves of Aiken; a son, David Allen, of Aiken; stepdaughters, Audrey Harper Durham of Rutherfordton, N.C., Lori Harper Henderson of Fountain Inn, and Andrea Harper Bruner of Greenville; a stepson, Steven Harper, of Conyers, Ga.; sisters, Verna Watson of Chino, Calif., and Katie McMahan of Sevierville, Tenn.; a brother, Friel Allen, of Imperial Beach, Calif.; and 20 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Eula Ogle. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the service. Following the service in Greenville, the family will have a visitation and graveside service in North Augusta at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pineview Memorial Gardens. Stephen D.
