John Stanley Wilds, age 85, of Newport, went to be with the Lord, Thursday May 26, 2005.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline on May 11, 2005; also preceding him in death are his parents, Ernest and Swannie Mae Wilde; a brother, Andrew Gene Wild; and sister, Faye Ratcliff. Stanley was a lifetime farmer, raising cattle, tobacco and vegetables. He served on the Cocke County Soil Conservation District for many years.
He is survived by his daughters, Carol Green and her husband Terry, Johnnie Sue Phillips and her husband Jim, granddaughter Paula Green; a brother, Wendell Wilde and his wife Betty; sister Ferne Ford and her husband Bob; two sisters-in-law, Alma Wilde of Oak Ridge, and Irene Wiley of Kingsport. He is also survived by special caregivers Karen Sisk, Jennie Payne and Elizabeth Caldwell; several nieces and nephews a special niece Debbie Shropshire and husband Gary and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday, May 30, 2005 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Miller, Rev. Ransom Hall and Rev. Gary Shropshire officiating, with burial in Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2005 at Manes Funeral Home.
