Gene was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary Abbott; brothers, Carroll and Winfred Abbott; sister, Ella Faye Williams; and grandson, Jason Abbott Survived by: Wife of 55 years: Lillie Mathes Abbott Son: Harold Abbott and wife Golda Daughters: Virginia Greenlee and husband Stacy, and Reginia Ogle Grandchildren: Samuel, Joshua, and Anthony Cunningham; Justin and Tylor Abbott, Jessica and Jonathan Ogle Great grandchildren: Breonna, Skyler, Yamya, and Joshua Paul Cunningham; Hailey, Van and Timothy Cunningham; Reece and Mya Abbott; Christian and Colton Abbott Brothers: James Abbott, George Abbott and wife Betty Brother-in-law: Worley Mathes and wife Virginia (Pinky) Sister: Wanda Abbott Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, along with many friends Funeral service 7 PM Monday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev.
