The native of Sevier County, Tenn., retired in 1974 from LangleyAir Force Base after 18 years in civil service. Survived by his wife, Retha Virginia Allen; two daughters, Joan Nitz of Wasilla, Alaska, and Martha Zastowny of Hampton; two sons, John Allen of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Jack Allen of Ormond Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Athley Funeral Home, Sevierville, Tenn. Funeral 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home by the Rev. Melvin Carr. Burial in Allen's Cemetery, Sevier County, Tenn.
