(December 29, 1913 - July 16, 2006) James Edward Kyker age 92 of Newport passed away Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. He worked for A.C. Lawrence Leather Company for 34 years and with his son Carroll at Newport Dry Goods for 23 years, and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father William Kyker, mother Sallie Lewis Kyker, step mother Mae Kyker, and brother, John Lawrence Kyker. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years Ella Kyker of Newport; children, Mary Jane Williams of Newport, Charles Edward and wife Ann Kyker of Greeneville, J. Carroll Kyker and wife Janet of Newport, Linda and husband Jerald Parks of Parrottsville; grandchildren, Cindy and husband Larry Pace, Ricky Williams, Tina Williams, Paige and husband Eddie Rhodes, Mark and wife Lesley Kyker all of Newport, Matt and wife Amanda Parks of Johnson City, Mindy and husband Landon Combs of Blountville, Denise Ramsey of Boaz, AL and Deneen and husband Sereyerp Ahluwalia of Burbank, CA; great grandchildren, Jagger Kyker Ahluwalia, Ella and Abigail Combs, Kaitlyn Kyker, Danielle Williams, Travis Pace, Earl E. Rhodes IV (Dusty) and Nicholas Rhodes; special nephew, Ray and wife Nancy Kyker of Morristown and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charlie Boggan officiating. Interment will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday in the Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Southside Baptist Church. Family will receive friends 6:00 till 7:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
