Allen E. “Papaw” Abbott age 85 of Knoxville went home to be with the Lord August 31, 2010. He was known for his love of sports, he was the owner and operator of Taco Rancho for over 20 years, he sponsored and coached baseball teams in the Knoxville area and was a mentor for young men. He was an avid hunter and attended Little Greenbriar School which is now in the National Park. He loved his mountains, where he was born and raised. Preceded in death by: parents: Elmer and Pauline E. Abbott, sister: Nina Bates and brothers: Arthur, Clarence and J.D. Abbott. Survivors: wife of 66 years: Jean Abbott, children: Diane West, Steve and Tammy Abbott, Jerry and Charla Abbott, Larry and Teresa Abbott, grandchildren: David and Crystal, Michael and Angie Abbott, ShawnNa and Rich Kettleman, Jennifer and Mike Gray and Amanda Abbott, great grandchildren: Taylor Abbott West, Mikey Abbott, Ashley Abbott, Madyson Abbott Ferguson, DeLayshia Schofield, Justin and Derek Currington, sister: Toby McCauley, brothers: Frank and Ernest Abbott, several nieces and nephews.
