Mrs. Phyllis "Blondie" Williams Smallwood, age 74, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at home. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Smallwood. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Tammy and Blake Bible of Cosby; Debbie and Terry Hayes of Newport; and Robin and Doug Grabowski of Arizona; son Richard Smallwood of Newport; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters Helen Grooms of Newport; Alene Costner of Parrottsville; sister and brother-in-law Opal and Leroy Mathis of Newport; brothers and sisters-in-law Theodore and Theda Williams of Newport; Herman and Renee Williams of Texas; and brother Jack Williams of Cosby. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Scott Gorrell officiating.
