BECKNER, CECIL SAMUEL (JUNIOR) - age 69 of Three Points, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 14, 2007 after a brief battle with cancer. Preceded in death by parents, Ollie and Cecil Beckner and sister, Iva Mae McGinnis. Survived by: wife of 27 years, Dorothy Payne Beckner; children, Ray Beckner and wife Leah of Knoxville, Ann Mayton of Sevierville, Tommy Beckner and wife Robbie of Sevierville, Richard Beckner and wife Vickie of Knoxville, Steve Beckner and wife Robyn of Knoxville, Kathy Spivey and husband Al of Mascot; brothers, Howard, Jack and Bill Beckner; sisters, Louise Hurst, Dorothy Russell, and Mary Sue Jones; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8 pm Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in the chapel at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Chorn, pastor of Marbledale Baptist Church officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Thursday at Asbury Cemetery for an 11 am interment. Grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 523-4999.
