Gary Parton, 42 of Sevierville, an adoring husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014. He was a longtime member of House of Prayer Sevierville. Pentecostal Church of God was his home church of early years and was the special location for Gary and Jennifer's wedding day. Gary was known throughout Sevier County to visit local churches and share his faith with others. He was a man of many talents and always enjoyed fishing, working on cars, playing the guitar and singing. Gary was an avid follower of UT Volunteer athletics and Nascar. He loved spending time with his family and had tenderness for the light of his life, his grandson, Ethan.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Stanley Parton; brother, Carroll Ray Parton; and nephew, Timothy Matthew Parton.
Survivors: Wife of 22 years, Jennifer Parton; Daughters, Sheena Parton and fiancé, Kristopher Kinsey, and Rachel Parton; Grandson, Ethan Kinsey; Brother, Timmy Dee Parton; sister, Rita Cook and husband, Carl; nieces, nephews, many extended family members and loving friends.
The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Wednesday with the funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Boling and Rev. David Fahidy officiating. Interment 1 PM Thursday in Caton's Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
