TOWLE , CECIL EFFERSON - age 79, resident of Knoxville and Pigeon Forge, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 1999 after a brief battle with cancer. He proudly served his country in World War II and over the years he worked at Cherokee Textile Mill and retired after 27 dedicated years with Time/ D.C. Freight Line of Knoxville. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of carpentry with others, traveling, playing golf, and making music with his harmonica. He was currently employed with the "Fun Time Trolley" of Pigeon Forge where all passengers instantly got an opportunity to meet his open, cheerful, and always uplifting personality. He was a lifetime member of the Marble City Baptist Church and took great pride in his volunteer work helping others as a member of the Kerbela Shrine Temple and Cherokee Masonic Lodge #728. Survived by wife, Flora Bell Towle of Pigeon Forge; sister and brother-in-law, Flordeal and John Hopson of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Cecil and Kay Towle of Tallahassee, Fla.; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Donald and Tracy Towle of Tallahassee, Fla., Michael and Cari Towle of Oviedo, Fla.; great grandson, Cody Towle of Oviedo, Fla.; stepsons, Newell and Donald Bohanan of Pigeon Forge; several nieces, nephews, and cousins who proudly would call him "Father." Funeral service 3 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Rev. George Williams and W.C. Thornton officiating. Family and friends will meet Monday at Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 10 a.m. graveside service. Family will receive friends 2-3 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
