Valerie Lane Hurley, age 84, of passed away, Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Newport Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse W. Lane; parents, Noah and Myrtle Price Shelton; sons, Doak Lane and wife, Elizabeth Lane, and Roy Lane; daughters, Mary Sisk, Jessie Mae Fraley, Shirley Annette Lane, Florinna Brooks and husband Edward, Ray and Doby Reed; daughter-in-law, Judy Bryant Lane; son-in-law, Daniel McGaha; sister, Dovie Sane; and brothers, Sonny T. Presnell, C. J. Gregory and wife Mary, Leo Presnell; sister-in-law, Izella Presnell. She is survived by her sons, Roger Lane, Joe D. Lane, of Newport, J. C. Lane and wife Ruby of Knoxville, Beecher Lane and wife Eula Dean of Newport, Joe C. Lane of Newport; daughters, Patricia Perryman and husband David, Brenda McGaha of Newport, Penny Taylor and husband Danny of Seymour, Lou Templin and husband Ron of Newport; daughter-in-law, Jane Lane of Newport son-in-law, Lloydd Sisk of Newport; sister, Beaulah Gentry of Newport; brother, Seldom Presnell of Newport; sisters-in-law, Lois Presnell, Virginia Presnell of Harrisburg, VA; nineteen Grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 an, Wednesday, August 22, 2007, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ben Watts officiating. Burial will follow in the Presnell Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at Manes Funeral Home.
