He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Smith grew up in the Marble Dale Area and was known as "Jaybird." He was preceded in death by his mother Maggie Pauline Smith, sisters Joyce Thomas and Kathleen Roberts, and brother Alvis Smith. Survivors: Wife: Freda Smith (Henry) Daughters: Glenna Renee Ziegel and husband Jim of Wisconsin, Rhonda Smith and husband Kenny of Wisconsin, Glynnis Smith and husband Dexter of Phoenix Stepson: Scott Hembree and wife Jennifer Grandchildren: Richard Rutledge, Coyt and Jeremy Ruell, Amber Jacobson and husband Tim, Gregory, Symone, Amaris, and Savannah Smith.
