(August 3, 1922 - June 1, 2009) U.S. Veteran Luther Eugene Grant, World War II Veteran, age 86, of Townsend, passed away, Monday, June 01, 2009 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Rose Grant; daughter, Libby Myers; and brother, Larry Grant. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Webb Grant; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jerome Vananda and Wanda and Stan Blair; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Michelle Grant; granddaughters, Tammy Roberts and husband, Clark, Misty Haven and husband, Scott; and grandson, Zachary Grant; great-granddaughters, Tori Roberts and Lauren Haven; nephew, Larry “Jim” Grant of North Carolina; and special beloved friend, Mike “Puddin” Nuchols. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Blount Memorial Hospice Staff. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Dean Mullins officiating.
