Larry James Grant, Sr., 81, died Friday, April 5, 2002. He was born June 5, 1920 in Townsend, Tennessee, the son of the late James Houston and Rose E. Caylor Grant. Mr. Grant was a Demolition Engineer and Pitt Foreman for Nello Teer Rock Quarry and a Army Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor O. Grant, of the home; son, Larry James ``Jim'' Grant, Jr. of Red Oak; daughters, Joyce Patty of Townsend, Tennessee, and Christina Grant of Asheboro, NC; brother, Luther Grant of Townsend, Tennessee; three grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2002 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to Friends of Hospice of Nash General Hospital, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
