(July 24, 1917 - February 23, 2008) Catherine Mary Ottinger, age 90 of Newport, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. She was preceded in death by her husband William D. Ottinger, brother Jim Franks, sister Ethel Cole. She is survived by her son William Douglas Ottinger and his wife Cindy of Okemos, Michigan, daughter Denise Ottinger of Topeka, Kansas, grand children Brian Ottinger of Lansing, Michigan, and Kristen Ottinger of Chicago, Ill., also a sister in law Agnes Franks of Newport. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday , Feb. 26, 2008, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freddrick Long officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 27, 2008 in Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Newport, at 212 Washington Ave., Newport, TN 37821.
