(August 31, 1920 - June 22, 2014) Ruth Fowler Thurman of Sevierville, TN. passed away on June 22, 2014 at her home. Born August 31, 1920, she was of the Baptist faith. She was an employee of Cherokee Textile Mills for many years until her retirement, then, worked at Burger King in Sevierville for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Walker Thurman; son, John Edward Thurman; parents, Thomas Decatur Fowler and Minnie Jane Flynn; sisters, Winfred Henderson, Myrtle Smelcer ; brothers, Frank Fowler, William Fowler and Ralph Fowler. Survivors include daughter-in-law, Kathy Thurman; sister, Mildred Hatcher; several nieces and nephews. The family will meet with friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Rawlings Funeral Home in Sevierville. Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens in Pigeon Forge, TN. with Rev.
