He was a minister for almost 50 years, 35 of that being full time. During that time, he pastored several local churches including Cartertown Baptist, Walnut Grove Baptist, Hurst Chapel Baptist, and Shady Grove Baptist. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Montgomery and mother, Zora Montgomery. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara T. Montgomery, son, John D. Montgomery, daughter, Christi A. Montgomery, grandchildren, Michaela Faith Montgomery and John Seth Montgomery, sister and brother-in-law, Mary Helen and Tom Ingram At the request of the family, please do not send flowers. Family and friends will meet 1 PM Wednesday in Shiloh Cemetery for graveside service and interment with Rev. Jimmy Riner officiating.
