Died: 02-21-2002 Nancy Morgan, 90, of Newport, went to be with her Lord Thursday evening at Mariner Health Care.
Mrs. Morgan was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Newport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas and Joanna Hasseltine (Wiggins) Keener; husbands, Clyde Gorrell and J.P. Morgan, Sr.; two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death, Thomas and John Keener, and Sally and Mary Keener; three stepsons, Jack and Everette Gorrell, and J.P. Morgan, Jr.
Two stepsons and four step daughters-in-law, Charles and Betty Morgan, of Birmingham, AL, Wiley and Katie Morgan, of Newport, Louise Morgan, of Seymour, TN, and Jane Gorrell, of Newport survive her. And two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Lucy and J.C. Thorton, of Chestnut Hill and Sue and Herbert Hurst, of Newport; two sisters, Emma Keener, of Canton, NC and Susan Ellingwood, also of Canton, NC; one brother and sister-in-law, J.P. and Bonnie Keener, of Whittier, NC; several stepgrandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 23, 2002, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Service will follow at 3 p.m. Dr. Rich Lloyd and Rev. Scott Gorrell will officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
Brown Funeral Home has been honored to make final arrangements for Mrs. Nancy Morgan.
