Addie Bell Smelcer, age 80, of White Pine, TN went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 15, 2011. She was born in Dandridge on February 6, 1931. Addie was a member of White Pine Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ida (Samples) Reese; sisters, Estelle and husband, Edd Teague, Mary Burchfiel and Georgia Douglas; and brothers, Holland and Ulyss Reese; brother-in-laws, Glenn Owen and Chuck Shropshire. She is survived by her husband, Bill Halk Smelcer; sons, Steve (Glenda) Smelcer and Mark (Gayle) Smelcer; daughter, Sharon Smelcer; grandchildren, Dawn Mantooth, Amanda (Rustin) Seaton, Dusty Smelcer and Jessica (Sam) Owens; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Clark, Dustin, Emily and Lindsey Smelcer, Sarah and Jacob Owens; sisters, Faye Owen and Phebe Shropshire; brothers-in-law, Bill Burchfiel and Doug Douglas; and sister-in-laws, Evelyn Reese and Ardith Reese. A special thank you to the devoted caregivers and friends from Smoky Mountain Hospice of Newport. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of White Pine with Rev. Brian Osborne and Rev. Glen Bradley officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 am Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Saturday at First Baptist Church of White Pine.
