Addie was a member of White Pine Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ida (Samples) Reese; sisters, Estelle and husband, Edd Teague, Mary Burchfiel and Georgia Douglas; and brothers, Holland and Ulyss Reese; brother-in-laws, Glenn Owen and Chuck Shropshire. She is survived by her husband, Bill Halk Smelcer; sons, Steve (Glenda) Smelcer and Mark (Gayle) Smelcer; daughter, Sharon Smelcer; grandchildren, Dawn Mantooth, Amanda (Rustin) Seaton, Dusty Smelcer and Jessica (Sam) Owens; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Clark, Dustin, Emily and Lindsey Smelcer, Sarah and Jacob Owens; sisters, Faye Owen and Phebe Shropshire; brothers-in-law, Bill Burchfiel and Doug Douglas; and sister-in-laws, Evelyn Reese and Ardith Reese. A special thank you to the devoted caregivers and friends from Smoky Mountain Hospice of Newport. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of White Pine with Rev. Brian Osborne and Rev. Glen Bradley officiating.
