She was a member of Gists Creek Baptist Church but attended New Hope Church in Kodak. She had a wonderful love for birds and flowers, but most of all she treasured her family and her loving relationship with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her father Warren G. Arwood, mother Verna Gladys (Mason) Arwood, and sister Wanda (Arwood) Maples. Her survivors include her: Husband of 44 years: Don Henry McCarter Son: Donnie McCarter Daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda McCarter-Lester, Arlene and Joey Ownby, Lorie and Robert Chipley Grandchildren: Corey Metcalf and wife Arista, Brandie Metcalf, Christine Dunford and husband Barry, Holly and Jake Ownby, Sydney, Jesse, and Shane Chipley, and one expected great-grandchild in December Sisters: Helen Reagan, Sherrie Caughron, Brenda Williams Special friend and cousin: Charlotte Whaley Special thanks to Adventa Hopsice Services of Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Adventa Hospice Services. Family and friends will gather between 10-11:45 AM Wednesday at Boyd’s Creek Baptist Church for fellowship and celebration of life.
