Mr. McCarter was a member of Middle Creek United Methodist Church, a long time employee of the Sevier County School System and a former Sevier County Farmer of the Year. His father, Glenn McCarter and a brother, Don McCarter preceded Arthur in death. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Seaton McCarter; children and spouses Dennis and Rachel McCarter, Tammy and Johnny Whaley; mother, Cecil Myers McCarter, all of Sevierville; grandchildren, Rachel McCarter, Jordan Whaley and Cory Heaton, all of Sevierville; brother, Mike McCarter of Sevierville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rhonda and Walter Johnson of Greeneville, Juanitaand Max Kirby of Sevierville, Pat and Doug Sturn of Haines City, Fla.; mother-in-law, Faye Seaton of Sevierville; brother-in-law and spouse, J. E. and Delsie Roberts of Sevierville; sister-in-law and husband, Glenda and Mark Arnold of Marietta, Ga.; several nieces and nephews. Service will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 4, at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lee Hojac officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, at Middle Creek Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Bob Maples, Bill Maples, Gene Maples, Lonnie Galyon, Coy Green, and David Beason with fellow Sevier County School System co-workers acting as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested, memorial donations be made to U.T. Hospice Care, Cherokee Place at Sutherland and Concord in Knoxville.
