ADAMS, MILTON A. - age 82, of Maryville, died Monday, January 7, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville. He retired from ALCOA, and was a member of the 25 Year Club. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army. He was a 50 year member of New Providence Masonic Lodge #128 F&AM. Preceded in death by parents, Monie A. and Grace Best Adams; brother, Herman, H. E. and Archie Adams; sisters, Juanita Adams Smith and Ophelia Adams. Survivors include wife of 58 years, Georgia Rule Adams; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sandy Adams of Germantown; daughter ad son-in-law, Martha and Jim Mathys of Knoxville; grandchildren, Robert and wife, Dawn VanAusdal of Salt Lake City, Utah, Stacey and Kurt Bryan of Cordoba, Tenn., Elizabeth Adams of Germantown, Justin and Joshua Mathys of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Alek and Madison VanAusdal and Chandler Bryan; sisters-in-law, Leota Adams, Ann Adams, and Margie Adams. A special thanks to the Blount Memorial nurses and staff on the second floor for their support and prayers. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at Smith Mortuary with Dr. John Sharp and Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Carpenter's Campground UMC Cemetery.
