- Gemma Moffitt and her son, Yewitt, sere keeping the old homeplace producing and
raising corn, chickens, etc., and keeping active. She wrote a large amount on
the the Moffitt lineage and stories about these rugged people of the mountains.
She lived in the house her husband, Marcus Elliott built. The land she was
living on was part of the original Morgan Estate, later the Moffitts and then
the Elliotts were the owners.
