Pansy Melinda Hill, 83, of Newport, died Monday, August 31, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Nancy Yates; brothers, John, Blaine and Robey Yates; and sisters, Beulah Moore and Louvina Hill.
Survivors: husband, Dizzy Dean Hill of the home; son and daughter-in-law, J.D. and Faye Hill of Newport; daughter, Norma Arrington of Illinois; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Dewey Mooneyham of Newport; brother and sister-in-law, Homer Martin and Virgie Yates; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Kathy and Chris Amador, Sharon and Buford Withers, and Deborah and Gary Cameron, all of Newport; grandchildren, Mike, Rick, and Fred Arrington, and Pam Rose, all of Illinois; great-grandchildren, Samuel Hill, Samantha Amador, Sarah Jenkins, Michaela Withers, Kyle Lovell, and Dustin Cameron, all of Newport, Shaleena, Josiah, Jennifer, Michael, Joel, Christina, Asheley, Dustin and Nathan Arrington, Troy Manning, Rachel Rose, Jay Rose, and Zachary, Rikki, Jason and Casey Arrington, all of Illinois; and great-great-grandchild, Haley McKendra Mantooth.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 3, at Piney Grove Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, with Rev. Bill Murr and Rev. Dale Hayes officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
Pallbearers: John Henderson, Sherl Yates, Buford Withers, Gary Cameron, Burnett Ray Hill, Jr. Hill, Bobby Messer, and William Carlyle.
