SUGGS, ANNA B. - age 95 of Newport, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2001. She owned Newport Laundry and Dry Cleaners for 38 years. She was a member of the Newport Garden Club, member of the 20th Century Club and taught Sunday school at Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church for many, many years. She loved working in her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Suggs; parents, Sam and Hattie Wilson; daughter and son in law, Mary & Joe Jarnigan; granddaughter, Joe Ann Jarnigan Woodbury. She is survived by her grandchildren, Earl "Bunny" Jarnigan and his wife, Jennifer, Mary Alice "Pie" McNabb; sister in law, Gladys Smeltzer; great grandchildren, Derek Jarnigan and his wife, Kelley, Chris Jarnigan and his wife, Tracy, Earl McNabb, Christie McNabb Harris and husband, Barry, Jessica Woodbury, Josh Godfrey, John Joseph Woodbury; step sister, Hazel Thornton; grandson in law, L.K. "Woody" Woodbury; four great-great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Sunday Oct. 14, 2001 at Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church, with Brother Craig Ward, Rev. Robert Walker and Rev. Terry Ailor officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:30-2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Manes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church Sanctuary Beautification Project, 234 Lincoln Ave. Newport, Tenn. 37821. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
